"En attendant Daignault"
1920's post-war France. Daignault (b.1964, Oklahoma City) discovers Picasso through reading Stein. Then Stein discovers Daignault and chases him from the house, brandishing a pistol given to her by Alfred Jarry. Later, while studying at the University of Oklahoma, Daignault is continually "shushed" by Bruce Goff, while Gene Bavinger urges the young arts student to leave off painting and try, say, waste-management. Not discouraged, Daignault moves to the river town of Memphis and takes up Ten-Pin Bowling and soon makes his next big discovery- the Soup-Line.
Daignault, in the south, and forced to work as a graphic "artist" in order to survive, recalls Steins advice to Sam Steward and is inspired to join the circus where he learns the trick of eating felt hats.
Mr. Daignault presently lives in Los Angeles where he trades paintings of naked ladies to a garment-district milliner.
